Makaliʻi Metrics seeks an investment of $2 million to establish and expand Hawaiʻi’s first comprehensive, locally-focused soil laboratory. This funding will support essential laboratory equipment, secure our lab space, and cover three years of operating costs, including salaries for technicians and ongoing maintenance. Our lab will address a critical gap in Hawaiʻi’s agricultural sector by providing a culturally-aligned, locally accessible resource for soil health analysis, thus reducing dependence on continental laboratories and promoting data-driven agricultural resilience across the islands.
